Usufruct

A usufruct is a registered right to use and take the income from a property owned by someone else, for a long fixed period.

It sits between a tenancy and ownership. The holder can occupy the property and let it out, but cannot change its substance and does not own it.

It appears in Dubai mostly in specific arrangements rather than in ordinary residential sales, and the exact rights depend entirely on the registered terms.
