Tenancy contract

A tenancy contract is the agreement between landlord and tenant setting rent, term and obligations, and in Dubai it is registered on Ejari to be effective.

Terms are normally annual, with rent commonly paid in one to four cheques. Registration on Ejari is what makes the contract recognised for utilities and visa purposes.

Notice requirements for ending or changing a tenancy are set by law rather than by the contract alone.
