Ejari

Also called: Ejari registration, Ejari certificate

Ejari is Dubai's official system for registering a residential or commercial tenancy contract with the Real Estate Regulatory Agency.

Ejari means "my rent" in Arabic. Registering a tenancy on it is what makes the contract official in Dubai, and the registration is normally needed before utilities can be connected or a family visa sponsored.

For anyone studying the market rather than signing a lease, Ejari matters for a second reason: the registered contracts are the only reliable record of what tenants are actually paying. An advertised rent is an asking price. An Ejari contract is a signed one.

Every rental figure and every gross yield published on this site is computed from registered Ejari contracts rather than from listings.
