DLD transfer fee

Also called: Dubai Land Department fee, 4 percent fee

The transfer fee is the Dubai Land Department's charge for registering a change of ownership, widely applied at 4% of the purchase price plus administrative charges.

It is normally the largest single transaction cost. Who pays it is a matter of agreement between buyer and seller, though in practice it commonly falls to the buyer.

It is one item within total purchase costs that typically run meaningfully above the headline price once agency, registration, mortgage and trustee fees are counted. Rates and charges are set by the authorities and can change, so confirm the current schedule at the time of purchase.
