NOC

Also called: No Objection Certificate

An NOC is a No Objection Certificate issued by the developer confirming it has no objection to a property being transferred, typically because service charges are settled.

It is a required step in a resale. The developer checks that outstanding fees on the unit are paid before issuing it, which is why unpaid service charges can hold up a sale.

A buyer should treat the NOC stage as the point where any arrears on the property surface.
