Title deed

A title deed is the Dubai Land Department document proving who owns a completed property, and it is the only conclusive evidence of ownership.

It names the owner, the property, the plot and the size. Ownership in Dubai is established by the entry on the Land Department's register rather than by a sale agreement between two parties, which is why a transfer is completed at a trustee office and recorded.

For a buyer the practical point is simple: until the transfer is registered and a title deed issued in your name, the property is not yours, whatever the contract says.
